Water Feature Maintenance in Massachusetts

Spring cleanouts, fall prep, seasonal memberships, and emergency service, for ecosystem ponds, koi ponds, pondless waterfalls, and fountainscapes. Features we built and features we didn't. Serving Massachusetts and New England since 2008.

    Starting at$1,300

A well-designed water feature largely manages itself, but New England's hard winters, heavy leaf falls, and seasonal swings mean that even the best-built ponds, pondless waterfalls, and fountainscapes benefit from professional seasonal care. Our maintenance services cover everything from annual spring cleanouts to full membership programs where we handle the entire seasonal cycle on your behalf.

We've been maintaining water features across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New Hampshire since 2008. We are Aquascape's 2025 Regional Master Certified Aquascape Contractor of the Year. We maintain features we've built, and features we didn't.

Spring Cleanout, The Most Important Service of the Year

A spring cleanout is a targeted reset, not an aggressive scrub-down. It removes accumulated debris and organic material from the previous season and winter before the system fully wakes up. Done correctly, it preserves the biology you've built and positions the pond for a stable, low-intervention summer. Done aggressively, pressure-washing surfaces, stripping biofilm, it can undo a season's worth of biological progress in an afternoon.

We know the difference. We'll always be transparent about what your specific pond needs.

    What a Spring Cleanout Includes

    • Drain and remove fish to a holding tank for safe handling • Pressure wash the full pond basin, rock surfaces and liner • Clean skimmer and biofalls filter media (rinse, not replace, preserving biology) • Inspect pump, plumbing, and all equipment for winter damage • Refill and dechlorinate, treat incoming water before reintroducing fish • Return fish and check for any health concerns • Initiate spring beneficial bacteria program

Exploratory Drain & Clean, For Inherited or Unknown Ponds

If you just bought a house with an existing pond you know nothing about, or if you're getting your first professional look at a feature that's been through neglect or a difficult season, the Exploratory Drain & Clean is the right first step.

We fully drain the pond, clean every rock and liner surface, inspect all equipment, and give you a complete picture of what you have, how it's built, what condition it's in, what's working, and what isn't. You walk away with a clear understanding of your system and a specific plan for getting it where it should be. It's the right starting point before any other service, because diagnosis without draining is largely guesswork.

Starting at $1,300 for smaller ponds, scaling based on size and repairs needed.

My Pond Is Losing Water, Where Do I Start?

Some water loss is normal, evaporation accounts for 1–2 inches per week in a typical active-season water feature. But if you're topping off more than that consistently, or if the level keeps dropping to the same point and stopping, that's worth investigating.

Our Exploratory Drain & Clean with Leak Detection finds exactly where water is going. With the pond drained, we inspect every liner seam, connection point, and structural surface. Once we've found the source, we repair it on the spot where possible and give you a clear plan for anything requiring follow-up.

We Service Ponds We Didn't Build

If you have an existing water feature, regardless of who installed it, we can assess and maintain it. Bring us what you have. We'll tell you what it can become.
