Our Process
How We Work, From First Call to Finished Pond.
We won't show up unannounced with a shovel. Here's exactly how the process works, from the moment you reach out to the day you're sitting by a running pond.
The Process
Five steps. No mystery.
We ask for photos of the area you're considering, a description of what you have in mind, and a rough sense of your budget. This gives us enough context to have a real conversation instead of starting from scratch. Most people hear back within one business day.
This call is about fit. We'll ask about your yard, your goals, your timeline, and your budget. We'll tell you honestly if what you're imagining is realistic, if there's a different feature that might serve you better, or if we're not the right fit. We'd rather tell you that now than after a site visit. Phone consultations are always free.
We visit your property, walk the space with you, and get a real read of what the site can support, soil conditions, drainage, access, grade, proximity to structures. We mark out the full footprint with you before anything is discussed as final. In-person consultations sometimes involve a consultation fee, which is always applied toward your project if you move forward. We'll be transparent about this on the phone call.
We give a preliminary investment range during our phone call so you're never walking into a site visit without a sense of the numbers. The final quote is delivered at or immediately after the site visit, or, for very complex projects, after a short design period. Once you've reviewed and signed, a deposit confirms your place in the build schedule.
We don't start a project and disappear for days. Once we begin, we work every day until it's complete, typically 2–5 days for most residential builds. We protect your yard, clean up all excavated material before we leave, and walk you through the completed feature before we go. The goal every time: you're more impressed with the process than you expected to be.
After the Build
Then the relationship starts.
Spring Cleanout
We offer spring cleanout services to keep your feature running at its best. Most clients put themselves on a recurring schedule.
Maintenance Programs
Our membership programs handle seasonal care entirely, spring cleanout, fall prep, bacteria treatments, winter shutdown. Ask during your consultation.
Emergency Response
If something goes wrong, a pump failure, a water quality issue, anything unexpected, call us. We stand behind what we build.
For Any Contractor
Questions worth asking before you hire anyone.
These aren't traps. They're the questions that reveal whether a contractor has actually done this long enough to give you a straight answer.
Ask us this on your phone consultation. We'll give you a straight, specific answer drawn from sixteen years of building and maintaining features across New England.
