Some projects begin with a finished home and a blank canvas. This one began in January 2025, when snow still blanketed the ground and the clients were just breaking ground on their contemporary-style dream home. With only the architect's design to reference, we embarked on a journey together to create the perfect welcome.
For this Middlesex County family, the entrance to their home needed to be more than just a doorway, it needed to make a statement. Something that would greet family and guests with both beauty and tranquility from the very first step onto the property.
The question wasn't if they wanted a water feature. The question was: what kind of water feature would truly complement a striking contemporary home that didn't even exist yet?
Finding the Perfect Fit
For five months, we explored a variety of options together. This wasn't about rushing to a decision, it was about finding the right solution for a home that was still taking shape.
We considered the aesthetics: how would it look against the contemporary architecture? We thought about sound: what would visitors hear as they approached? And we carefully evaluated placement: where would it make the greatest impact?
The Perfect Choice: Three Aquascape Spheres
After months of exploration, it became clear that three Aquascape Spheres in varying sizes would be the ideal choice. Their modern yet rustic appeal was the perfect match for the home's contemporary design, sculptural enough to make a statement, natural enough to feel welcoming.
The varying sizes create visual interest and depth, while the water cascading over each sphere produces a symphony of soothing sounds that greet every arrival.
Day to Night Drama: 9 LED Lights
To complete the vision, nine LED lights were incorporated throughout the feature. As the sun sets, the spheres transform, the dramatic play of light on water creates an entirely different experience after dark.
Whether family is coming home late or guests are arriving for an evening gathering, the illuminated fountainscape ensures that first impression is just as powerful at night as it is during the day.
